Nokia Unveils E63

In addition to its Eseries, Nokia has launched E63 smartphone. Nokia E63 is very much similar to its flagship messaging device, E71. With its smart price tag and “mass market appeal” the Finnish mobile company claims E63 to be a major rival of BlackBerry.

As compared to the company’s flagship model E71, E63 comes in 2 colors: ultramarine blue and ruby red and an improved keyboard. E63 lacks GPS support and sports a 2 megapixel camera. Some of the specifications of Nokia E63 are listed below:

  • Symbian S60 phone
  • Dimensions: 113 x 59 x 13 mm
  • 36-inch QVGA display with 320 x 240 pixel and 16 million colors
  • Thicker and complete QWERTY keyboard
  • Keyboard sports smaller space bar and 2 additional keys
  • 2 megapixel camera with LED flash
  • 3.5 mm stereo headset jack and a music and video player
  • Bluetooth 2.0
  • Wi-Fi
  • HTML and XHTML support
  • Nokia Ovi support
  • POP/IMAP e-mail accounts
  • Switches modes with a single key press
  • Internal memory of 110MB, expandable up to 8GB, microSD card slot

In comparison to E71, there are features like GPS, HSDPA and infrared port are missing in E63. It is expected that shipping of Nokia E63 will start within few weeks in Europe with approximate price tag of 199 euro plus taxes. Nokia E63 will take time to be available in Indian market.
