Chandrayaan Half Way to the Moon

After a week of its launch Chandrayaan is more than half way in distance to the moon. The launch took place on October 22nd.

The flight of the Moon Impact Probe (MIP), which weighs 29 KG, from the Chandrayaan spacecraft to the surface of the moon will either be on November 14 or November 15. Scientists are working out the precise spot of crash landing on the moon.

As of now around 100 to 150 officials of Istrac, Bangalore are exclusively involved with the Chandrayaan operations. Once the Chandrayaan is into routine and normal operations, the number of staff will come down to 25.
