What is Nano- Technology?

Nano- technology courses provide training and knowledge on the improvement and alteration of technology with atomic meticulousness. The dimension of the particles in this technology is often less than hundred nanometers. It being an interdisciplinary subject integrates Bio- Technology, Bio- informatics, Physics, Chemistry with some other disciplines.

Nano-Technology Courses are in high demand in a number of laboratories and industries in India as well as abroad. The scope of nanotechnology is huge which has led to many institutes introducing degree courses in it at both the graduate and P G level.

Benefits:

A degree in Nano-technology could open employment opportunities at different sectors. The areas where they might find employment are:
• Food and Beverage
• Bio- Technology
• Forensic Sciences
• Genetics
• Space Research
• Environment industry
• Medicine
• Agriculture
• Teaching

Courses:

There are a number of institutes offering courses in Nano-Technology in India and out of the country. An M. Tech. in Nano- technology is P G degree providing an understanding of the technology. Related courses are M. Tech in Healt-Care Nanotechnology & Ph.D. in Nano-technology.

Eligibility:

Candidates with a B. E / B. Tech degree in Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology or Pharmaceutical Technology who have secured at least a 65% marks.

Some institutes of India that offer nano- technology course are:
• Indian Institute of Science ( Bangalore)
• Jawaharlal Nehru Center for Advanced Scientific Research (Bangalore)
• National Chemical Laboratory (Pune)
• National Physical Laboratory (Delhi)
• Defence Materials Store Research & Development Organization, (Kanpur)
• IITs (at Chennai, Mumbai, Delhi, Kanpur and Guwahati)
