Once he visited the Ashram (house of Tapasvi or rishi - hermitage) of Jamadagni Maharshi. With proud, Karthaveerya asked the Maharshi to arrange food to all his soldiers and pariwar. Maharshi smiled and arranged food for the King’s whole pariwar within a very short period of time.

When King Karthaveerya asked Jamadagni Maharshi that how he made this possible, he answered that he has Kamadhenu, a sacred cow which can make everything possible. After listening to the words of Maharshi, King was eager to own that sacred cow, Kamadhenu. But, Maharshi refused to give the sacred cow to the King. Head-strong King Karthaveerya forcibly took away the cow and the calf.

Knowing this, Lord Bhargava Rama went to Mahishmati, the capital city of Karthaveerya’s kingdom, ‘Hehaya’. Lord Bhargava Rama destroyed the whole sena and pariwar ( chariots, elephantry, cavalry and infantry) and then cut off the thousand arms of King karthaveeryarjuna and killed him with his axe, which is also called ‘Parasu’.
