Google to Put Check on Drunken Mails

In order to check drunken mails, search engine giant Google launched a new feature called as “Mail Goggles” in its GMail. This new feature in GMail is introduced to avoid sending embarrassing emails after partying hard. Jon Perlow, GMail engineer has introduced Mail Goggles feature to Google’s emailing service.

Presently Mail Goggles is available at Google Labs and once activated tries to prevent drunken emailing. But the question is how does Mail Goggles work and prevent drunken emailing? By default the feature is automatically turned on Friday and Saturday nights. After late night partying when you try to send a mail “Mail Goggle” poses simple math problem which needs to be solved within a number of seconds.

Once you are able to solve the problem within the given time the message is sent. In case you are unable to solve second round of question are posed before sending the message. There are in total 5 rounds of problem you need to solve in given time to prove that you are position to send sensible message. On the company’s blog posted on Monday, Jon Perlow said: “Hopefully, Mail Goggles will prevent many of you out there from sending messages you wish you hadn’t.”

The best feature of Mail Goggles is that after activating it you can change the number of days and hours. That means you can activate it for whole week as well as the number of hours you feel you require it most. To change the default setting you need to go to GMail’s account setting.

Recently Google got highest marks for email security from tech researcher Gartner. Besides that Google is working on improvement of GMail service inclusive of the ability to run mail service offline. Play safe and wear Mail Goggle before sending wrong mail after night-outs.
