A new film institute named after filmmaker D. Rama Naidu is all ready. It is going to offer courses soon this October. This is expected to provide a relief in the prevailing dearth of good film schools in India.

Courses being offered

The institution will offer 18 months long courses which claim to be complete and inclusive. The institution aims to raise the bar by increasing the use of technology in producing quality films. The students will be given hands-on experience.

Post-graduate diplomas that are to be offered in the school are:

• Direction
• Screenplay
• Script-writing; and
• Cinematography (among others)

Eligibility

• Any graduate can apply
• There is no age bar
• Admission strictly on the basis of the creativity which will be tested in the interview

Why is it an Innovative Institute?

The innovation is its selection process. The selection process is commendable for its flexibility. For example if an individual is a good painter without any graduation degree he might get selected. Experience as an assistant director will also be taken into consideration.

Course Fee

The course fee is quite high. It is Rs. 2.5 lakh. An extra Rs. 32,000 is also charged for use of the state-of -the-art equipments provided by the institution. The institution claims the courses demand such fees.

The school is established at the premises of the Rama Naidu Studios at Film Nagar, Jubilee Hills Hyderabad.
