Nokia 3600 Slide- A Compact Stylish Slider- A Review
Posted on September 30, 2008 in Technology by Annie
Personally I am a die-hard fan of Nokia phones so for me any Nokia model is simply wow. But keeping personal views and reviews aside, Nokia 3600 Slide is a comfortably skilled stylish phone. Even being a mid-range phone Nokia 3600 Slide covers all the basics and claims to have excellent performance in terms of imaging.
The best feature of this neatly priced Nokia handset is 3.2 megapixel camera with VGA video recording and TV out option. Check out other unique and key features of Nokia 3600 Slide:

- Compact and lightweight
- Nice oval shapes
- Neat slider design
- 2″ 16M-color QVGA display
- S40 user interface, 5th edition, FP1
- 3 megapixel camera, autofocus and LED flash
- VGA video recording
- 512MB included memory with microSD card slot (up to 8 GB)
- 2.5mm standard audio jack, TV-out
- Stereo FM radio with RDS
- Bluetooth with A2DP, USB
- Voice commands
- Rich preinstalled content
- Nokia Maps
- Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE support
Now let’s have a quick sneak peak through general specifications of Nokia 3600 Slide:

- Color: Wine and Charcoal
- Dimensions: 97.8 x 47.2 x 14.5 mm, 60 cc
- Weight: 97.3 g
- Memory: 30MB internal memory, 512MB included, extendable up to 8GB microSD card slot
- Battery: Standard battery, Li-Ion 860 mAh (BL-4S)
- Phone Book: 2000 entries with photocall
- Call Records: Yes
- Infrared Port: No
- Bluetooth: Yes, v2.0
- USB: Yes, v2.0 microUSB
- Edge: Class 32, 296 kbits
- Browser: WAP 2.0/xHTML, HTML (Opera mini 4)
- Camera: 3.15 MP, 2048×1536 pixels, autofocus, video(VGA 15fps), flash
- Other Features: Built-in handsfree, Nokia Maps, MP3/AAC/eAAC+ player, TV out, Voice memo/commands, Stereo FM radio with RDS, etc.
Nobody is perfect and there is always scope of improvement. Some of the major disadvantages of Nokia 3600 Slide are listed below:
- Very rigid shutter key
- Rigid battery cover latch
- Average camera image quality
- When the rear cover is removed the battery falls off immediately
- Memory card slot under the hard-to-remove rear cover
- Due to sliding movement the bottom row of keys gets scratched
- No 3G support
Though there is no surprising or stunning factor but performance-wise one can comfortably rely on Nokia 3600 Slide. Its 3.2 megapixel camera is unimpressive but other features like neat and smooth exteriors, 16M-color QVGA screen, expandable memory, stereo Bluetooth etc. makes it appreciable phone.
Nokia’s brand name and performance and affordable price tag makes it worth, that’s what I personally feel. Still different people, different opinion hence here is request to all Nokia 3600 Slide users to leave their personal views and reviews about the phone in the comment section.

I m using this phone for about 2 months and it seems that Nokia made this phone in a hurry…
There are lot of problems regarding firmware of the phone. Either it is not tested thoroughly or not designed properly. Lot of restarting/hanging problems.
While its a good phone overall 4 budget users.

I liked the design and reviews and hence purchased the phone. There are lots of problems apart from the disadvantages mentioned above.Phone is too slow.It often restarts and hangs on applying themes, setting ringtones, playing games & sometimes on inserting memory card!It doesn’t support MP4 format which even a lower model does & some 3gp videos also gets stuck.Sometimes the images taken in the phone itself are diplayed as file format not supported…all these in less than a month from Nokia…TERRIBLY DISAPPOINTED…
