Indian School of Business (ISB): One-of-a-Kind B-School

The ISB situated at Hyderabad in the state of Andhra Pradesh in India is a business school very different from the others of India. It offers a one year MBA Program unlike the other institutions where the program is of two years. This helps the students save a year. However, the pre-requisites for applying to the ISB is different also, the students need to have work experience of they are to apply here.

The prior work experience is of great help to the students because that enables them find relationship with the managerial concepts taught here with their experience. This helps them to sharpen their skills more efficiently.

The students need to have two years of job experience as well as present referrals from two individuals they have worked with or from persons from the institutions they had been previously.

The students should have taken their GMAT with a score of 600. CAT marks alone are not enough to get you into this institution. The student may be given provisional admission and would be admitted only if he gets a 690 score in GMAT later. International students need to clear the TOEFL to get admitted here.

The University has associations with top B-Schools and offers a sensible mix of Indian and international scholars as faculty members. The course is intense as it spans only through one year. There are eight semesters: four of which are general and the later four is specialized. The specializations are offered in: Marketing, Finance, Entrepreneurship, IT Management and Leadership Management.

The fee of the program is around Rs. 13, 90,000. Scholarships are available for students only on special cases like exceptional merit or poor financial conditions. The course fee is much higher than the other schools in India but keeping in mind the kind of training that is provided here, the fee is understandable.

The students have to possess their own laptops. They have to stay within the campus. There are two kinds of flats for rent inside the campus. The smaller ones which are offered on sharing basis are offered at a price of a lakh and a half, bigger flats cost a lakh more.
The compassing that takes place at the ISB has always been very successful in getting for its students the highest paying jobs in India. The placement is almost a cent percent; therefore, if a student can get in ISB he need not worry about his future.
