India: Art, Literature and Philosophy

Indian culture never fails to stand out amongst that of the whole world. The art, literature, and philosophy have evolved as time passed and India saw many artists, writers and philosophers.
Art in India
Indian Performing arts and Visual arts, both, were influenced by different rulers, philosophers, changing ideas and people. Dance, which includes folk and classical, has been one of the most favorite sources of entertainment. Music also has two forms in India- Hindustani and Carnatic. In the process of evolution, music compositions, in both vocal and instrumental, have gone through several changes. Theatre and martial arts also form a vivid part of Indian culture.
Indian architecture and sculptures are known for their beauty and intricate wok. Paintings and sculptures found in very old caves are proof for the ancient history of art in India.
Literature in India
India has seen many poets and writers over the years. Mirza Ghalib, who is known for his romantic poetry , Ravindranath Tagore who won the Nobel Prize for literature, Amir Khusro, the poet of the Mughal Era, Sarojini Naidu, better known as the nightingale of India, Premchand the Hindi writer, are some of the famous Indian writers. Mahabharat and Ramayan are the two epics of India.
Philosophy in India
Philosophy in India is something that’s a common finding. India has given to the world respected philosophers like Swami Vivekananda who remains to be an inspiration to the youth, Mahatma Gandhi, whose philosophies of peace are still sorted after, Kabir Das, the Hindi poet philosopher, are some eminent names in Indian Philosophy. India has also seen logicians of Science and Mathematics, like Ramanujam and C.V. Raman.
