Stone Rakhis: You can get your jeweler to stud in some special stones in your rakhi. A very common tradition in northwestern parts of India, this form can vary in accordance to the type of the stone. If you can afford diamonds well and good, but if you cant there are several stones available which can adorn your brother’s rakhi.

Metal Rakhi: The royal clan wore this form of rakhi in ancient days. However, this form is gaining lot of popularity in the form of silver and gold metal rakhis. Sisters can way before order this type of rakhi and present it to your brothers.

Sandalwood rakhi: Sandalwood is considered to be very holy and is a very important part of religious ceremonies. A sandal wood rakhi will signify your love and God’s protection over your brother.

Before you tie these rakhis make sure you get them blessed at the temple. Also, make a sincere and humble prayer for your brother invoking God’s blessing on him and all his endeavors.
