Special Ghevar For Rakhi

Ghevar is a specialty of Rajasthan. This honeycombed delicacy is made with plain flour and ghee.
If you want to try out something new this time try making Ghevar on Rakhi. It is considered to be a holy offering, which can be submitted to the holy Gods and Goddesses. This sweet can be used as holy Prasad and also you can feed your brother a sweet that has been blessed.
Lets have a look on how to make this sweet.
Materials Required
3 cups of plain flour
1 cup of ghee (Take the solidified one)
3-4 pieces of Ice Cube
4 cups of water
½ a cup of milk
The yellow color used for cooking.
5-6 drops of kewra .
1 kg of Ghee.
1 powdered tbsp of cardamom
Some dry fruits like cashew nuts and pistachios
Threads of saffron, which have been soaked in, warm milk.
U will also need sugar syrup, which can be made at home.
A mould , which gives the circular shape to the ghevar.
Recipe For Sugar Syrup.
Boil Sugar in some water and heat the mixture till it becomes a golden brown. Make sure this syrup is of a one-string consistency.
Steps
Take the solidified ghee and rub it on the ice cubes till the ghee becomes white.
To this mixture add flour, milk and water till it becomes a thick batter.
Put the food color in the water and add it to the batter, after which add on the kewra essence.
Now add more water to the batter, such that the batter becomes a smooth flowing liquid.
Now get the mould ready. Pour some ghee into it and heat it up.
Then pour in some batter into the mould, let it settle down and then you pour another round of batter.
Remove the batter out and let the oil drain.
Now get your sugar syrup and dip the ghevar into it.
After some time take the ghevar out, put it on a mesh to drain off the syrup and spray some saffron milk on it and sprinkle the dry fruits on it.
Once ready offer it to god and serve it to your brother.
