Coconut Barfis For Rakhi
It’s that time of the year when all the women out there have something nice to prepare for their brother. Yes its Rakhi Time.
For all those brothers who love coconut sweets, its time that their sisters make them their favorite dish. One such sweet that can be made is “Coconut Barfi “. Lets have a look at the recipe for Coconut Barfi which is easy and simple to make.
Here are the things you will require
1) 2 Coconuts completely scraped up. Make sure that nothing is left in the insides of the coconut shell.
2) 1 Cup of coarsely shredded coconut, the difference here is, this one does not have to be so finely scraped up, you can take a knife and scrape up the coconut.
3) A few drops of yellow color, not the yellow paint, but the color one uses while cooking yummy dishes. (You get them in small bottles and they are specifically meant for cooking)The one that gives your biryani a nice yellow color.
4) Some saffron strands soaked in warm water.
5) 1 and a ½ cup of sugar.
6) A cup of milk
7) ¼ tbsp of cardamom powder
1 tbsp of ghee.
Now that you have all this on your table, get set to make the yummiest barfi’s
Firstly, put in all the coconut together both the coarse and the finely scraped ones and mix them on a pan. Make sure the stove is on.
Then you add milk to the mixture and continue stirring till you see the milk frothing. You will see bubbles in the pan.
Stir for about 15 minutes
To this mixture you add the cardamom powder and the saffron.
Take a pan and start boiling sugar in another pan so as to come up with sugar syrup.
Once the syrup is formed add it to the coconut mixture and stir up.
Add ghee to this mixture and switch off the stove when you see the mixture bulging up.
Now you take another pan and grease it up with butter.
Slowly start pouring the mixture on this pan, and let it cool.
Once cooled, cut it into blocks and serve it to your brother.
He will definitely love it. And so will everybody in the family.
Happy Cooking.
