Rakhi is a traditional Indian Festival. So it is best that one dresses up in Indian wear, to experience the feel of the occasion. Some may not feel comfortable in Indian wear, and may want to switch on to jeans, but what’s the fun wearing jeans when you wear it everyday of your life.
Also, one may wonder how dressing has an implication on a brother-sister relationship. Well, the answer would be that dressing up in accordance to the mood of the festival brings about a special excitement. This is something one cannot deny. And if you still are not convinced just remember that your brother may really be touched seeing you go through the pain of dressing up in something you are not comfortable just for him.

India Ethnic wear: One can wear jeans and a long kurta if they are not comfortable in the above mentioned dresses. One can add on to the look by wearing a pretty stole.
