How To Decorate Your Rakhi Thali
Rakhi is a very important festival of the Hindus. One very important ritual done during this ritual is decorating the Thali.
Every step that is taken to decorate the thali is symbolical. Here is a step- step procedure on how it should be done.
Firstly keep the contents ready; you may need a diya, a tika, some rice and sandal wood, incense sticks and most importantly the rakhis.
A brass or silver thali is considered auspicious. So make sure you have one. Now draw a swastika symbol, in between the thali. This is considered to be the symbol of lord Ganesha.
Get hold of three tiny containers and place the tika also known as the roli, rice and water in them.
Placing them in beetle leaves is very auspicious. You can choose to place them in beetle leaves instead of containers. Banana leaves also add to the festive look.
Place incense in the incense stand and also place some flowers in the thali.
Decorate the thali with flowers in the end and you are ready with your Rakhi thali.
There are several ways you can decorate the thali, you can use a bandini cloth, sequins and various other decorative materials.
