Yukta Mookhey returns with Memsahab

There have been Aishwarya Rai, Sushmita Sen, Priyanka Chopra, Lara Dutta and Diya Mirza… all former beauty queens doing well in Bollywood. We wonder why former Miss World Yukta Mookhey hasn’t made it any close to average in Bollywood. She made her debut with Pyaasa and failed to impress. Probably she got so discouraged that she didn’t have the courage to try again. But we hear that Yukta Mookhey was involved in the making of Haroon Sayyed and Arshad Siddique’s Memsahab from a very long time.

“I’ve been busy traveling and completing this film which has taken forever to make, but I’ve also been busy doing a lot of projects and assignments in regard to appearances, launches, hosting a program and raising funds for various organizations,” says Yukta explaining her long hiatus.

Talking about her forthcoming film Memsahab, Yukta says, “Memsaab is the story of Anjali, a prostitute who is a victim of the ‘84 Sikh riots which happened in Delhi after Indira Gandhi’s assassination. She has seen her entire family being killed in front of her eyes in the riots. She has these flashbacks and memories which keep haunting her and what she wants to know is what is it about her past that doesn’t let her stay in peace.”

She isnt popular with the top filmmakers of Bollywood but Yukta justifies saying, “In my case I’m only focussed on doing cinema that is more meaningful and that has more substance. I’m always going to be choosy about the films I take up and I eventually want to get into film making. I want to direct and get into the whole process of creating a project.”

Still we don’t see the choosy actress getting anywhere close to good roles.
