There is good news for those who wish to go Disneyland but cannot. Now you can go for a virtual tour of Disneyland. Google Earth made this possible. Walt Disney World Resort is taking help of Google Earth to make an interactive 3D tour of its resorts. This will help the visitors to plan and book their vacations in advance.
This partnership venture of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts and Google Earth is expected to go online on Tuesday. This will make it easy to go on a virtual trip to Walt Disney World’s Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom and 22 Disney resorts and hotels.

The program allows visitors to view Disney’s favorite attractions and hotels by simply clicking on its images. It also allows visitors to plan out their vacations, make reservations and purchase tickets. Users can view around 1500 rides, attractions and restaurants in 3-D by clicking on the maps. Users can also use the free mega map with interactive features which is available on Google Earth or Disneyworld.com/3dparks.
Jay Rasulo, Chairman, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts said: “It’s a virtual walk-through of the whole property … the most amazing virtual tour of any place in the world.” John Hanke, Maps Director, Google Earth said: “While Google Earth offers a growing number of 3-D images and gives bird’s-eye views of theme parks, with links to information about them, the Disney project is the most ambitious and detailed 3-D production yet. It’s “truly innovative and unique.”

To build the map of Disney World 8 photographers for 10 days canvassed every inch of it. Then the images were made in 3-D. With the stratospheric view of the globe the virtual tour of Disney World starts. Then a sky dive takes you from the flatlands of Florida to a view of Magic Kingdom’s Seven Sea Lagoon. From there you can explore the streets, in and around resorts and hotels, Cinderella Castle, The Tower of Terror and other attractions.
With a click on the image you can get all the related details for example click on Space Mountain you gat a video of the ride and other information like height requirement. You can also get the information on the rates, availability and can make a reservation. Initially the only the exteriors of Disney World’s attraction but in future you can stroll into Cinderella’s Castle or walk into Disney Resort rooms.
