Munnabhai and Omkara big winners at National Film Awards

Rajkumar Hiraani’s Lage Raho Munnabhai and Vishal Bhardwaj’s Omkara emerged big winners at 54th National Film Awards despite regional cinema dominating the scene.
Lage Raho Munnabhai bagged four awards including Best Popular Film, Best Screenplay, Best Lyrics, and Dilip Prabhavalkar got the Best Supporting Actor award for potraying Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi in the film.
Dibankar Banerjee’s Khosla ka Ghosla bagged the Best Hindi Film award. Konkana Sen Sharma won the Best Supporting Actress Award for her powerpacked performance in Omkara. Director Vishal Bharadwaj bagged the Special Jury Award for Omkara.
Madhur Bhandarkar got a surprise award of Best Feature Film Director for Traffic Signal. Rakesh Roshan’s Krrish won the award for Best Special Effects. Kabul Express director Kabir Khan was elated to receive the Indira Gandhi Award for Best New Director.
