Puri Beach Festival, Orissa, 2008: A Breathtaking Cultural Carnival

Puri, the abode of Lord Jagannath is one the holiest cities of India and Puri beach is one of the sacred pilgrimage spots for Hindus and also a popular tourist resort. The festival, ‘Puri Beach Festival’ conducted at the Puri beach annually is the breath taking festival of the state, Orissa.

The festival is celebrated for five days from 23rd to 27th in the month of November every year. It attracts thousands of tourists and devotees from all over India as well as every corner of the world who come here to enjoy the great carnival and see Lord Jagannath.

The festival presents a vivid view of Orissa’s classical dance, music and art. Puri is my ancestral land. I never saw Jagannath temple and Puri Festival. The beauty and graceful of Lord Jagannath and the festival presented in your article forced me to visit Puri this time. Thank you for your information.
