Hampi Festival (Vijaya Utsav), 2008- the Fascinating Festival of Karnataka

Hampi Festival, organized by the government of Karnataka is a fascinating festival of the state. The festival lasts for 3 days and starts on 3rd November and ends on 5th November every year.
The festival takes place at the ruined city of Hampi (353 kilometers from Bangalore), Karnataka, which was once the glorious capital City of Vijayanagar Empire, comes alive with all its magnificence during the festival. Amidst the rocks and ruins that date back to hundred of years the festival represents world class dance and music performances by renowned artists of Karnataka and other parts of India.
The celebrations of the festival also include drama, spectacular processions, puppet shows, fireworks and much more that add colors to the festival. It attracts thousands of tourists from all over India and other parts of the world who enjoy the grandeur of the festival to its fullest extent.
The festival too revolves round the lives of the local people and brings out their art and culture to the rest of the world.
