Having a Second Look at Tashan

I watched Tashan second time a couple of days back. Last time I went along with a boring friend and this time I had a better company. Still what made the difference was that I knew exactly what the movie is going to be about and may be I was less judgmental this time. Therefore… I actually enjoyed the movie.
Perhaps that is what went wrong with the movie. People expected a Dhoom like action-thriller when they went to watch Tashan. I realized while watching the movie is that ‘tashan’ or ‘style’ is the director’s main objective in the movie. He just wants people to simple come to watch the stylish actors in the movie.
Kareena’s tashan was her zero size, Anil Kapoor’s tashan was the bhenkat Hinglish he spoke, Saif’s tashan was Kareena of course and Akshay Kumar was the tashan of the movie.
So if you haven’t watched Tashan yet keep in mind that it is actually silly and its funny in its silly way. Even the action and gravity defying jumps of Akshay Kumar are meant to be funny. On the surface layer it plays with action and romance as its prime genre’s and on the deeper layer it is a comedy.
May be if you watch the movie second time like I did, you may see the deeper layer reflecting through romance and action scenes.
Over all I must say, it was a timepass movie. But if you only go with the expectation that it will be a comedy.
