It’s great news for all the Facebook users. Soon you will find your Facebook profile in a new design. This what Facebook Developers say as they updated the details of upcoming design of the Facebook profile. The redesigned Facebook profile was suppose to be launched in early April, but due to some reasons it got delayed.
Basically the Facebook profile is categorized under 5 major tabs: Wall, Feed, Info, Photos and “Boxes”. The major changes you will see in the new design of Facebook profile are:

- New Templates and Feed Stories: In the new profile design the feed tab is placed in front-and-center of the profile although the sharing and showing the interesting feed stories will remain unchanged. The appearance of the feed stories will be still controlled by the user. To enhance the features of feed stories the new design is enabled with 3 sizes of stories: full, short and one line.
- Application Tabs: As told above the major change in the Facebook profile is the “5 Tabs”. By default the user starts with 5 tabs on their profile: Wall, Feed, Info, Photos and “Boxes”. And to present themselves in a better way user can add more tabs from their favorite applications. The facility to add-on tabs is unlimited but the appearance of the tabs is restricted to 6 tabs and the other tabs can be viewed in More drop-down.
- Publisher: This application allows the user to add content to a friend’s or your own feed. It also allows the user to add content like photos, text or rich content from other applications like links, videos, music, images, etc. This application is the major up gradation to the Wall attachment.
- Profile Boxes: This is a new addition to the Facebook profile and will contain narrow and wide profile boxes. The user can easily disable or enable the application. The Boxes tab is supported by “new profile box type”. And these new profile box type uses 250px height standard templates.
- Application Info Section: In order to allow user to express them in a better way the new Info tab is introduced. The Info tab includes the standard Facebook profile data as well as user can add structured information with the help of application info section. Now this application info section contains a list of images or text provided by the respective application.
These are the main features of the new design of the Facebook profile. But with the feed back of the users there might be some more changes in the redesigned Facebook profile. According to the Facebook developers they are planning to open a beta site so as to test and build the changes of the redesigned Facebook profile later this month.
