Significance of Krishna Janmashtami Celebrations

Yadaa yadaa hi dharmasya glanir bhavati Bharat
Dharma sansthaapanaarthaaya sambhaavami yuge yuge
As Krishna incarnated on this earth to destroy King Kansa, the evil and other evil elements, the prime importance of this festival signifies following and observing ‘Dharma’-the Right Path to redeem ourselves from the circle of Maya. We can win over maya when we surrender our entire being at the lotus feet of the Supreme Lord, Krishna as sage Ved Vyas says:

“Yato Krishnastato dharmaha, Yato dharmastato Jayaha.”
i.e. “Where there is Krishna, there is Dharma, where there is Dharma, there is Victory.”

If we go deep into the significance of the festival, it tells us to lead a truthful life which indirectly helps us to form a better society, country and a peaceful world. This message is not only an epitome of this festival; rather it is the core message of all the Indian festivals.
