International Fast Food Chains in India
India is growing home to international fast food chains like McDonalds and KFC. It is also speculated that Burger King is collaborating with DLF to enter the Indian premises. Though such fast foods propagate unhealthy eating trends, they can be much of a relief for tourists who are not able to adjust with the Indian spices.
Burger King is having problems entering the Indian arena because they are trying to implement the “no beef†menu as early as possible. Burger King, also known as BK excels in hamburger preparations and was first opened in Miami, Florida, in 1954 by James McLamore and David Edgerton.
McDonalds is very rampant in India or probably the most popular chain in India. Almost all major cities like Bangalore, Delhi, and Mumbai have McDonald’s outlets. The outlets try their best to focus on the hygiene conditions and thereby provide clean toilets and seating arrangements. People pour in huge numbers to get a taste of some of the most popular serves like – Chicken McGrill, McChicken Burger, French Fries, Combo Meals, Milk Shakes and Hot Chocolate Fudge to name a few.
Some McDonalds chains also provide home deliver services within a particular distance (about 10 minutes from the outlet) – in Mumbai, Pune and Delhi. On a global level, McDonalds dominates 31000 locations coming second to Yum Brands at 34000 locations.
KFC, also known as Kentucky Fried Chicken is a fast food chain that originates from Kentucky. This fast food outlet has expanded its operations and menu all across India starting from Bangalore in 1955. Some other places which boast of this robust international fast food chain which has appealed to the Indian taste are – New Delhi, Mumbai, and Hyderabad.
Infact, there are other international chain of restaurants and cuisines which are appealing to the Indian taste too like – Pizza Hut, Subway, Dominos Pizza. Take your pick and enter any fast food chain to fill your tummy after a hectic sightseeing schedule.
The term “fast food†was recognized by Merriam-Webster in 1951. Though an unhealthy option, fast foods can be prepared and served quickly and that is why it is a much preferred choice for those who want a quick grab of something to ease their hunger. Medical experts globally believe that it is unhealthy to binge on fast foods. So take a careful bite of these desirous fries and burgers.
