As India has loads to offer in terms of its vibrancy of cultures and traditions, there is much for tourists to explore within the country. Thereby most tourists think of visiting other cities when they’re on their trip to India. It is always a good thought to make use of the travel incentives available for tourists in India, which help plan your visit in India and at the same time it is a good money-saver option.
India offers a variety of choices for tourists to travel to different destinations through rail, road and air. However, airlines facilities and those provided by the Indian Railways serve as good starters to an exciting, comfortable and adventurous trip.
Travel Incentives for Tourists in India
There are 3 travel incentives which tourists in India can avail for:
- Priority Booking of Train Tickets: As per the Government norms, there are a fixed number of seats which are reserved exclusively for foreigners in trains. Indeed, it is a facility because unlike Indian travelers, foreign tourists can avail the tickets on the day of travel too. The only requirement being that they have to show their passport and make payments in foreign currency.
- Indrail Pass: If tourists wish to travel to different destinations, the Indian Railways provides them the facility of getting hold of the train pass which is called the Indrail Pass. This pass is an economical way to travel to different places without being interrupted. Another interesting feature of the Indrail pass is that you can travel twice on the same route unlike Visit India Airlines Pass which does not allow that.
- Visit India Fares: Domestic flights in India also give foreign nationals the option to travel cheap within India (for about 1-3 weeks). Get inquisitive about availing early discounted airfares for cheap and comfortable traveling in India. Also get detailed information about cheap airline offers advertised within India or travel companies in your home country.
Foreign nationals can now hop onto air conditioned and relatively comfortable trains like the Rajdhani and Shatabdi with the help of the Indrail Pass. Also note that the Indrail Pass does not allow you to board luxury trains like Palace on Wheels, Fairy Queen Train, Deccan Odyssey or the Heritage on Wheels.
Buses are usually not recommended for foreign tourists who wish to travel from one city to other cities and destinations. This is mainly on account of the fact that the journey can get hectic with the scorching heat and the bumpy roads though the highways are well-maintained.
Safety is another issue that tourists should always be alert about. Going to different places can make them encounter unwanted and unscrupulous situations, which are better avoided when things are arranged by reliable sources like the hotel where you’ve checked in or authentic travel companies.
